How to Restore an Unsaved Microsoft Excel File?

0

What to do if I forget to save a document and close the application. How can I recover it?
Can I do this with just Excel or I need some other software?

If you have AutoSave active (the default) in Excel, go ribbon File then Open (as normal). Look at the bottom of the screen and click "Recover Unsaved Workbooks". Hopefully you'll see the unsaved file in the Open dialog.

Hope this works for you. If so, please remember to mark this Answer as Selected.

Adrian. That site gives other options too whereas I gave you one I recalled from memory (haven't encountered the problem in ages thankfully). You might also need Autorecover on, don't remember.

Hope something works for you!

You can try some third-party recovery tools for that. I myself use one called FoneDog Computer Data Recovery. It gets back my accidentally deleted graduation thesis word.
