Download exchange rates from web

0

Hi all, I want to download exchange rates from the web (let's say yahoo finance or any other similar service) dynamically building an URL with the currency pairs and start and end date.

but I don't want to use Excel's Get Data from Web because is very cumbersome and not at all dynamyc.

Also any add-n suggestion would be usefull running on Excel 2019

Any idea on how to do this? Any help much appreciated. Thank you

Hello Michael and welcome to the forum.
If you could elaborate a bit more on what the end goal is would be helpful. What do you mean by "dynamically building an URL". Also, if you could upload a representive fille showing the page layout will be very helpful.

Yes Willie. I mean that the currency pair can change, once can be ABC/DEF, another ABC/XYZ, or GHL/MNO and so on. Also the time frame can change, it could be from the 01/02/2023 until 01/04/2023 or any other date.
I can easily build those value dynamically. But, as yet, have been unable to download data in an Excel sheet where either to just display or further analyse. Hope this is clearer. Thanks

Michael. I won't have time to contribute on this one (sorry) but would remind you that sites like Yahoo Finance often employ "anti-scraping" measures to prevent what you're attempting (what they see as data theft). Previously it was easy to use IE as an intermediary but these days supported browsers like Chrome might be needed. Good luck!
