short cut for home function

0

Hi,

I would like to create a short cut for "home" function on the key board. Since I need to go to the first column frequenty, to be efficient and less movement of my hand, I would like to know how I can create a short cut that would enable me to move the cursor from any cell in the spread sheet to the first column from the same row of the working cell of the excel sheet.

Your help is appreciated.

To move the cursor from any cell to the first cell (column A) of that same row press the Home key.

Use Shift+Home to select the range of cells from the original location to column A.

Use Ctl+Home to move the cursor from anywhere to A1

Use Ctl+End to move the cursor from anywhere to the bottom right cell of the used range.

Agreed. I prefer this solution over writing a macro (OP's solution) - this is much cleaner, works in all workbooks, and will never cause issues.

I figure out the answer myself. Thanks.

First move to any cell first. Then click on "use Relative References and then click on "record Macro" under developer in the ribbon. Then click on "home" on the key board. And then click on "stop recording". That's it.

What shortcut did you give the macro that is easier than just hitting Ctrl + Home. You can also just hit Ctrl+Arrow Key Up/Left and that does it quickly.
