Saving a file with the original name

0

Computer: Mac running ElCapitan

Since I updated the OS to ElCapitan my spreadsheet files will not save with their given names.

Excel insists on adding a numeral to the end of the filename and then saves it as an additional file, leaving the original file untouched.

If I delete the extra character at the end of the name and save I am asked whether I want to replace the original file. This is all very tiresome.

Anyone?

That doesn't sound normal to me. I would think this has more to do with the Mac aspect of it rather than just Excel - maybe close all your programs and only try to use Excel and see if it still happens.

The only other thing I can thinkĀ of is if you installed any Add-ins in Excel or have any macros running in the background that are causing this kind of behavior.
