Locking a single specific cell in excel

I am unable to lock a single specific cell in excel. Please help me.

Helo Barenyasanyal14,

This is really quite easy.

On the worksheet, in the top left corner where the column letters (left of "A") and row numbers (above "1") meet, click the arrow. This will select all cells on the worksheet. Then in the ribbon click on "Format" and then "Format Cells". In the window that opens click on the "Protection" tab. Now uncheck the "Locked" option and click "OK" Now on the worksheet select the cell you want to lock. Right click and choose "Format Cells". Go to the "Protection" tab, select "Locked" and click "OK". The last step is to password protect the sheet; when you do, only that one cell will be locked.
