Transaction matching in two worksheets

0

Hi, is it possible to complete transaction matching in excel with multiple criteria. I want to match transactions in worksheet #1 (master file) with transactions in worksheet #2 and #3.

Matching criteria is:

1) Dr. amounts in sheet #1 should be matched to Cr. amounts in sheet #2 or #3 and vice versa for Cr. side (note: sheet #1 has separate debit and credit column but sheet #2 & #3 has single column which dr. And cr. Both amounts and a separate column which says "C" for Credit and "D" for Debit.

2) cost center and transaction date should match

3) last 5 digit of transaction description should match with description in sheet #2 or #3 (sometimes we don't have transaction description in #2 & #3, so we can ignore and focus on other criteria. Transaction description is important when we have multiple transactions of same amounts)

I tried to watch YouTube videos but unable to figure out. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks!!

I wish I could share the pic. Is there an option to share the picture?

If you would post a file with some sample data it would make it easier to understand what you are looking to achieve and possibly provide a solution.

Hi Swati and welcome to the Forum.

The option to attach a file is shown when you choose to EDIT your original question- your will then see a button Add files... below the text. You can only attach Excel file types.
