How do I allow the user to select from an item combobox and also to type freely, that any entry entered will go into a list box, and an Excel spreadsheet.
I want a certain combo box instead of the little arrow to show a date picker.

I'm not clear on your question- please edit your original question to attach an Excel file (your effort to date) by using the "Add files... " button and explain an example.

I'd just use 3 combobox drop downs, one for each part of the date. That is MUCH easier than making an actual date picker or trying to get the legacy version of the date picker to work.
