Pivot Tables Question.

  1. How can you disable the automating sorting in pivottables?

Hi Tsulli and welcome to the Forum.

Excel sorts by default (since it's generally useful to do so) but you can set what to sort on and group data (e.g. into age ranges).

You can move data in a pivot table if you want to click on the down arrows on the row labels then select "More Sort Options...". That will give you the option "Manual (you can drag items to rearrange them)".

(Note that there's an item "More Sort Options" where you might need to untick the "Sort automatically every time the report is updated")

Then you can select a row and move it up or down.

Hope this helps.
