How to create a formula for how long of a lunch break

0

I'm trying to figure out how to build a schedule where it calculates how long of a lunch break is required for a given shift length. I want it to look at a cell (with how many total hours are on the shift), and if it's below 5 hours, display 0, from 5-7 hours, display "0.5", and 7+, show "1". I think it should be an "if" function, but I'm new to using the logic checks on a spreadsheet.  Any tips would be great.

Hi Blake and welcome to the Forum.

You'll find out how to do that in one of Don's tutorial on this site, here: Calculate Hours Worked - Day or Night Shift & Breaks in Excel.

Please remember to return here to confirm if that works.

Have a good weekend.
