How do I use Get External Data

0

What I'm trying to do is this:  I download raw data from our accounting system into a CSV file then copy the data into a worksheet that a pivot  table uses to create a collection tool for our collection team.  I know that using MS Query is the best tool for this task, however, that isn't available to me from the accounting system side at this point.  So, the question is; How do I get the data from the CSV file without having to copy and paste.  Because of the sensitivity of the data I can't provide a sample; please accept my apologies.

Thank you for your help.

You go to the Data tab > click the From Text button > select the csv file from your computer > follow the steps in the Text Import Wizard.

There is also a tutorial that shows you how to do that in more depth here on teachexcel: Import CSV into Excel

You know you can also use Power Query to load the CSV file as well.

Didn't he say he couldn't use that? He said MS Query, but I assumed he meant that he couldn't use Power Query.
