Data from Word file not pasted properly in Excel

0

Hi,
I pasted some data from a Word file into Excel file.

I pasted with CTRL+A then Ctrl+C in Word file and Ctrl+V with "Match Destination Formatting" option in Excel file which pasted data as per attached Excel file.

But data is not pasted properly.

I want data in printable format  in 3 or 4 pages

Please guide.

MS Word and MS Excel, while both members of MS Office, are different apps with completely different file structures. For example, a Word table is internally not comparable with an Excel table. Therefore copying data from one file format to the other is problematic to say the least. What you see as copy/pasting of one block of text actually is the painstaking translation of a million tiny details of data and formatting.

Accordingly, you can indeed copy data from one application to the other but the result of that transaction needs final formatting. The instruction "Match destination formatting" doesn't apply across applications.
