Your question is rather vague (you don't say what your rows and columns or data are) but to draw a chart in your sheet...

Select your table then:

  • go to the Insert tab
  • from the Charts section, click on the down arrow of Insert Line or Area Chart
  • click on the upper left symbol of the 2-D section and your chart will appear on the same sheet as the table
  • (if the chart has the wrong x and y axes, right click on chart then click Switch Row/Column and a different form will be displayed).

For more information, go to the Charts and Graphs in Excel section in the Tutorials section of TeachExcel. If you want to do it in VBA, start with Don's tutorial Guide to Creating Charts with a Macro in Excel

Revision 1: If you want a chart showing only a single line of the table, follow the instructions above but rather than "Select your table", click and drag to select the header row of your table then Ctrl + click/drag to select the row you require (say row 12). Then go to Insert etc.

Hope this solves your problem. If so, please mark it as Selected.

The figures are date and net worth. Your suggestion works if all the data is in one line. How to jump after 12th figure to the new line?

If the table is 12 rows high, including a header, the chart should show 11 lines of networth v. time.

To graph just a single net worth line, see Revision 1 to my Answer above.

If that is not you meant, please edit your Question to clarify, preferably adding a file including the chart you created. It can be test data if you like.

Hi Narnal. Did my answer work? If so, did you vote up my Answer rather than Select it? I can't tell really.
