Drop Down list value fills x number of cells

0

Hi there,

I have a drop down list which has options in such as Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink.

If I have a dropdown option in every cell in Column A and I select Blue in A1, but I want it to go in every cell down to A37 for example. Instead of having to do it manually I want to be able to type 37 in a cell and it will automatically fill all the cells in column A down to A37 with Blue.

Is this possible?

Many Thanks

Consider this formula in Cell A2 and copy down to A37.

=$A$1

Is it possible to have a cell where I can type a number in and it will automatically fill that number of cells down in that column? And then the same in another cell which will do the same below the last used one above?
Thanks

Whatever - number or text - you type into A1 will appear in the cells that have the formula I suggested in it. You can have another number in A38 and =$A$38 in the next 36 cells below and that number will appear in the 36 cells with the formula in it. You really need to try and see.
