In 2008 i followed youtube how to make a "dynamic gantt chart" instructions. It worked great. Now i have Excel 2013 (i think) and my chart has flat gray bars instead of 3d colored bars. What did i do wrong? Thank you, Roy

Go ahead and edit your question and upload a sample file that illustrates the issue and it will be easier to help. Without seeing the file I can't say for sure, but, if that formatting aspect is the only problem then it shouldn't be more than clicking the bars and going to the Design (or similar) tab and changing some settings there.

I just edited the title to change the spelling of Gantt, that's all. And the file seems fine to me. Look to my answer below.

I attached your file with added color bars and made them 3D. I'm in office 365 but it should be similar in 2013...
Right-click the bars to format > click Format Data Series... > go to the Fill section in the window or pane that opened > choose Solid fill > select a color from the options that appear. In the same window/pane that appeared, go to the Effects tab or section and you should see options for the 3D formatting.
You can also edit the formatting by clicking the chart and going to the Design tab that should have appeared when you clicked it.

thank you for the help. what i had done before, years ago, was follow the Teach Excel- Dymanic Gantt Chart lesson 2008 on youtube and the green bars would turn red as time ran out in the gantt chart . When i'd try to build it, a few days ago, i did it in 3 series again, like the teach excel, and i had nice dimensional bars until the 3rd series and the bars went flat and gray. I'm looking for the kind of 3d bars that are green and then turn red as time runs out. thanks again

I found what i did wrong. I had the todays date in a2 but the formula was looking for todays date in a1. It works now. Thank you for your time.
