if condition for particular character or digit

 i have an account no of 12 digits. Any formulae if 7th digit of account equals to 6 then result show "current account"?

Please try this formula.

=IF(MID($A2,7,1)="6","Current account?","")
The account number is presumed to be in A2 and it is presumed to be a string. If it is a real number the mthod of determining the 7th digit would have to be different.
