what is the process for taking data from 3 adjacent horizontal cells and placing that aggregate data into one cell in a separate workbook?

Basically, have both workbooks open and start typing the formula in the first one and then navigate to the second one and continue to enter the formula.

The result could look something like this:

=[Book1]Sheet1!$A$1&[Book1]Sheet1!$B$1&[Book1]Sheet1!$C$1

There is a & sign between the value from each cell; this sign allows you to reference multiple cells. Method 2 of this tutorial from us gives you more information on that.

You can also take a look at this tutorial from us for going between the workbooks.
