Text to Number Format Formula in Excel

Simple way to convert a number stored as text to a number stored as an actual number in Excel.

This shows you how to keep the original data in tact by using a helper column in the worksheet.

This technique is very helpful when you want to sort and otherwise analyze a data set, particularly when you put it into a Pivot Table.
