Hi I am looking for a way to generate a random number from a LTN distribution and LN distribution with known mean value and deviation.
For instance:
LTN
mean 1,3
dev 0,2
LN
mean 1,3
dev 0,2
How is this done in excel?
Hi, everyone,
I have a quick question for normal distribution in Excel.
There's a construction project with the following monthly expenditures:
JUL 2008 $ 4,903
AUG 2008 $ 3,591
SEP 2008 $ 15,452
OCT 2008 $ 12,806
NOV 2008 $ 59,988
DEC 2008 $ 121,808
JAN 2009 $ 261,162
FEB 2009 $ 264,769
MAR 2009 $ 306,240
APR 2009 $ 438,695
MAY 2009 $ 397,569
JUN 2009 $ 345,190
The project's allocated amount is $12 million and the time period is from July 2008 to December 2010. Is there anyway I can forecast future monthly expenditures (from July 2009 & onwards) based on normal distribution model using Excel 2003?
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I was wondering if it is possible for excel to create a normal distribution
curve from data in excel. Thanks
Hi,
I am having some problem with excel. I know how to create a histogram and a normal distibution curve, but what I want to do is after creating a histogram superimpose a normal distribution curve over the histogram. Can you please give me some info on how to do this! Treat me as a newbie.
Thanks in advanced.

Hey everybody! We recently converted to Office 2007 at work, and I'm struggling through the change! One thing that I've noticed in Excel 2007 (which doesn't happen to one of my coworkers) is that if my "Normal View" is zoomed (e.g. 75%, 150%) and I change to "Page Break Preview" view then back to "Normal View", I lose my zoom and my "Normal View" changes back to 100%
Not a huge deal but certainly annoying... does anyone know if there is a setting I can change so I don't lose my zoom?
Thanks!
Bob
I need some help on EXCEL. I have a spreadsheet with the questions that I seek help with The data table is a summary of results with the columns - mean, variance, and standard deviation My interest is the row in the table with the largest mean value. and I use the NORM DIST function to answer the probability of completing say a project in x or less time units Since I am looking for the largest MAX value of the means I can embed the MAX function in the NORM DIST function, however I also need to use the Standard Deviation that corresponds to the MAX value of the mean. Is it possible to use another function to match the corresponding Standard Deviation value to the MAX mean value? If so , what would I use? MEAN VAR STD 28.083 0.732 0.856 29.941 1.491 1.221 27.343 0.824 0.907 29.201 1.583 1.23 I would like to match say The MAX of the mean column of values with the corresponding row Standard Deviation by using a function so that I can procedd with the NORMDIST function. Thanks for any help you can give with this.
hi
I dont want my sub total columns at the end (right) of my columns, i want them to be first (i.e left) of the columns, is there anyway to do this in the standard excel pivot feature?
thanks.
I have a column in excel that are various numerical values ( exported from access ) I already have cells that calculate the mean and the standard deviation. What I need to do is to display a histogram of the number of times a value appears within certan values...
for example... how many value are between (mean and mean+standard deviation)
how would I do this ?
thx
