PLease view blue numbers as value with colored background, also the results from division should populate adjacent row (O).
The old versions of excel aligned the negative numbers in parentheses with positive numbers assuming a decimal point before the closed parentheses. The 2007 version is not aligning the negative numbers in parentheses with the other positive numbers in column. Is there a way to correct this format difficulty I am having?
How do I format cells do that if figures are -15 say it will show in red (15)

I am working accounting number format, and I would like to have negative numbers appear as parenthesis. The tough part is I would like the dollar sign to be on the left side of the cell, and the number (in the parenthesis) on the right side of the cell. I dont need any decimal places, and I don't want the negative number to appear in red.

I wanted to know how you can find the answer to the largest negative number amongst numbers that are both positive and negative. For example;

What formula would I need to input in order to find the largest negative number in this range, the answer should be -9. What would be the excel formula?

Hi All,
I have a large dataset (24000 rows) that requires me to multiply two different columns of integers. In some cases, the two integers are both negative and multiplying them results in a product that is positive. I actually need that product to be negative rather than positive. I can't quite seem to figure out the best way to accomplish this.
Any ideas? I poked around the forum and web a bit and wasn't able to find anything dealing with this specific issue.

OK, im working on a school project and it is to make a checkbook register with the common credit and debit columns. We are given the values to enter and supposed to make the debit column show in parentheses and in red automatically, without entering a - in front of the entries. I cannot use the number dialog box as I dont have - in front, only tip teacher gave is use a formula at top of column.
example of debit entry 124.18, no - sign, no dollar sign.
please help, im going insane.

I have to reconcile a group of numbers against one number and about 1/3
of the numbers are negative. This code is excellent but ignores
negative numbers and also returns (for some reason) a "Subscript Out of
Range" error message when doing some blocks of numbers. As an example
I had about 20 numbers which I needed to reconcile against one
(probably 2-4 made up the one) and I got this error.
Any Ideas?
