hi,
How can i set the options of auto fill option so that it will not automatically increment the numbers,so that i can fill all the cell with the same formula for all?Without copying and pasting it manually.
Thanks
Running Excel 2003 SP2, how do I turn off the Auto Fill Options box from appearing?
Until today, the default of my auto fill options was copy cells; in addition,
I never saw the auto fill box, ever. I've disabled the show paste and show
insert options so the box doesn't appear but it defaults to fill series and
adds a day to each date I drag and drop. Holding down the control key
overrides the fill series default but I'd like to go back to copy cells as
the default. Can it be done?
I can't find online how to deal with this fill problem.
I have a column where I want to drag a fill. Usually that's no problem. But the equation has some cell values in it that I DON'T want it to change, but it does no matter what I do. How can I have some values increment (A1, A2, A3... etc) but others don't (C5 is always C5)
Example of what I want to happen after using the auto fill from
A1+C5
A2+C5
Creates
Cell Row 1: A1+C5
Cell Row 2: A2+C5
Cell Row 3: A3+C5
Cell Row 4: A4+C5
Cell Row 5: A5+C5
...
Cell Row n: An+C5
what is keyboard shortcuts for auto fill options??
Is there any way to remove the auto fill options button, not the auto fill itself?
Thanks, todnic3030
I have confused myself again.
When you click and drag to auto-fill a row or column of cells, Excel auto-incriments the letters or numbers to match.
However, it increases the numbers when I need to increase the letters (columns).
Example:
=Sheet!A1
=Sheet!B1
=Sheet!C1
And Not:
A1
A2
A3
I was doing this somehow by clicking, but it stopped working, and I can not figure out or find help on how to do it again ...
I know, i'm stupid.
Any help please ?
Thanks again!
If I fill cells by dragging a formula down a column, Excel inserts a Fill
Option box offering a "choice of fillings" - copy, fill with format and fill
without format. Is it possible to stop this box appearing? I do not think it
was part of Office 2000.
When I use excel to do registration, I enter customers address and want to
click and pull down that address into cells below, but when I do the address
number increases in value. I can go into auto fill options and change it, but
I want it to always select copy cell and default back to it. On this spread
sheet. I have some colums that default to copy cells and other colums that
when I try to drag a number it increases in value because it defaults to fill
series. How do i change this?
