I have a spreadsheet built that I put the scores in column A. The first score is in A2 and there are no blanks.
I am looking for the avg of the last ten scores. I tried searching and tried a couple of close threads but nothing worked.
Thanks for any help,

Hi all!
I am using Excel 2007 and I have data that i'm trying to look at thru a pivot table. I can create the pivot table but then I need to create a new field that will create an average instead of a sum.
The reason i need an average is becase the data is actually Scores given by customers to rate our technicians and I just need the average.
I thought all i would need to do is select PivotTable Tools-> Options -> Tools -> Formulas and click on Calculated Fields and imput the formula i want (example: Average). But that seems not to work either.
Maybe a pivot table isn't the right thing to use, any suggestions would be GREATLY appriciated.
I have attached an example file of what I am trying to do.

I have put this question on Excel Forum..
Calculating Average,Max,Min across Different Sheets & Rows for Cricket with "*"...
BATTING :
Not Out --Only counting the instances when the Batsman was "Not-out" indicated by an asterik next to the Runs.
Total Runs with/without * ---Total Runs including numbers with and without asterik ( * )
Average-- (Total Runs with/without) * / ( Total Matches played - Not Out instances )
Highest Score with/without *
There are 2 instances of 186 and 186*, then the one with [ * ] would be considered.
Lowest Score with/without *
If there are two instances of 48 and 48*, then the one without [ * ] would be considered. 48 would be the Lowest score
I have put Call-outs to explain wherever there's a requirement..

Is there a way to calculate the average (sum of C2/Sum of C1) and have it show in C3 of a pivot table? If I do this manually it messes up the fields when I collapse them. C= column This is URGENT!
Hi,
I have a pivot table in which when i used average it calculate for all the dates. How can i calculate average for end date only.
thanks,

I am trying to replace "Grand Total" in a pivot table with "Average", but the data is not numbers.
Sample below:
Month ---------- Reference
January -------- a
February ------- b
March ---------- p
April ------------d
January -------- e
January ---------f
January -------- g
April ------------ h
January --------- i
January --------- j
April ------------- k
April ------------- y
A normal pivot table gives me
Count Reference
Month -------- Total
January-------- 6
February ------ 1
March --------- 1
April ----------- 4
Grand Total -- 12
I would like to see that the average is 3 references per month.
This is part of a much bigger table with almost 200 pages areas (I need average per month, quarter and many more things).
How can I acomplish this? Already looked in google, etc, but could not find any help
Thanks a lot.
I am trying to get an average in my pivot table. My data is as follows:
Job Car Amt
Paint 1 50
Paint 1 50
Paint 1 20
Paint 2 100
Inspect 1 50
Inspect 2 100
I am trying to get the average job cost. So for example, average paint cost for the 2 cars is 110 and average inspect is 75. Having multiple lines for the same job/car is confusing me.
Thanks.
